This intensive, program is based on the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program created by Jon Kabat-Zinn for the UMASS medical School in 1979. This evidence based program offers secular mindfulness and meditation practices to help you change your relationship to stress, anxiety and pain.
I said this class was intensive, right?! Here are the classes included in the course:
1 1/2 hour orientation class (required)
7 - 2 1/2 hour classes
One 6-hour Saturday retreat (meets between weeks 6 & 7)
What to expect:
This course is highly experiential, here’s what we do each week:
guided meditation practices
small and large group exercises and discussions in a supportive atmosphere
daily home practices
Expect to spend up to one hour a day practicing what you have learned in class, with the help of guided audio meditations (which are provided throughout the course). The home practices are essential to the course.
Is this right for me?
Learning to meditate and to be more mindful can help you live with more joy, less reactivity, and become more at peace with your life. If you experience any of the following, then I encourage you to join us:
Chronic pain and illness
Grief and loss
Trouble with attention and focus
Here’s the beauty of this course:
It’s less about DOING, and more about simply paying attention so that you are more able to live your life to it’s fullest. I would love to have you join the class! Please contact me with any questions you may have, or sign up with the form below.
